Originally from Belfast, Emma qualified from Queens University in 2012 before relocating to Edinburgh to undertake further postgraduate training in adult and paediatric dentistry, oral surgery and community dental care. In 2014, Emma was awarded the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She completed a year of oral and maxillofacial surgery training in Glasgow, before returning to Edinburgh to complete orthodontic speciality training. In 2017, Emma was awarded a Masters in Orthodontics with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh. She gained the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2018, before returning to Northern Ireland with her husband. Emma welcomed her first child in 2019 and a second child in 2020, whilst working in general and specialist practice. She is now the principle of Lisburn Orthodontics and looks forward to building upon the excellent long-standing reputation of the practice.
Emma is a member of the British Dental Association, the British Orthodontic Society and the European Orthodontic Society. She has published research and articles in various professional journals and is committed to postgraduate education.

Alan qualified over 30 years ago and so has extensive experience as an Orthodontist. After graduating in dentistry from Queen’s University Belfast, Alan went on to gain invaluable hospital-based experience as well as a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons In Glasgow and completed 3 years of postgraduate training in Orthodontics at Cardiff Dental Hospital. Having obtained his D.Orth in 1991 and his M.Orth, M.D.O. and M.Sc.D in 1992, Alsn returned to Northern Ireland and established his own practice. Alan is also an international member of the American Association of Orthodontists and a member of the British Orthodontic Society and the Northern Ireland Orthodontic Group.
Alan established the Lisburn practice in 1992 and has built a patient-focused practice that delivers exceptional quality care.
